What's The Movie About:
A Fakir (Nagarjuna) enters Shirdi and starts rescuing people from evils and troubles by performing miracles. Within no time, the number of his followers increase and he becomes popular as 'Sai Baba'. He stays in a dilapidated masjid. One day, Sai Baba tells that he is leaving his physical body for three days and return after third day. The devotees keep the body safely. An English Officer (Srihari) objects the villagers' act of keeping the corpse and orders to remove it. But they do not allow to remove the body. After the third day, the soul reaches the body and Baba sits to everyone's surprise. His devotees begin to believe him as the incarnation of Lord Dattatreya. What miracles he makes and how he spreads spirituality will form the rest of the story.

The film is set in the Nelakondapalli village of Adilabad district in Nizam Princely State of Hyderabad of the late 1940s. The feudal society is under the vice-like grip of an aristocratic family and its head, a Dorasani (Shwetha Menon). Mallamma (Baby Annie) is the darling of the village, who is living in perpetual humiliation. They seek solace in her songs. Brought up by Sambayya, an old man, she develops a mysterious attachment to a basil tree which is regarded as holy by the entire village. She happens to sing a song in the Dorasani's house which enrages her. Since nobody can have a skill which her daughter has not been able to acquire, she decrees that Mallamma cannot sing if she wants to be alive. However, singing is in her very marrow. After all, she is the daughter of Rajanna, who had inspired hundreds of villagers to revolt against the evil lords through his revolutionary songs. When the Dorasani finds Mallamma singing for another time, she decides to hound her and kill. The grandpa wants to take her away, but Mallamma refuses to oblige. It is then when she tells him that she cannot abandon the village where she Rajanna meets her every day. Dorasani, who overhears Sambayya telling her that she is Rajanna's progeny, kills him. A heroine that she is, Mallamma stages an escape with the help of the music teacher (Nassar) and sets off to Delhi to meet Nehru (Prime minister). The Rajanna story: After killing over a hundred British officers, Rajanna (Akkineni Nagarjuna) is a proud son of a free India. Much to his dismay, he finds the villagers of Nelakondavalli still in servitude and radicalises them to massacre the oppressors. The revolution spreads to hundreds of villages and the nawabs are shaken. Unable to repress the warfare on their own, the local lords seek the help of the evil Razakars. Ever at the forefront to save the village, Rajanna leads a guerrilla warfare with his four comrades (a Muslim, a Tamil Brahmin, a Punjabi and a Maharashtrian) and achieves martyrdom after fighting hundreds of Razakar desperadoes to the finish. Rajanna lives on in the memories of the people of Nelakondapalli. His spirit arouses Mallamma to put up a never-say-die attitude and rid the village of the beastly doras.

What's The Movie About:
The movie starts out with Tanikelli Bharani trying to kill an innocent man, who is against Pedhanna. Tanikelli gets killed by Jairam, who is one of Peddhanna's followers. Peddhanna is the biggest goon in all of AP, and he has 3 major followers who murder people for him. The other henchman just kidnap the wanted. These followers are, Jairam, Bhagavan, and Nanda. The next scene introduces Satya, getting of a truck and getting involved in a fight, which is against GK, and Peddhanna. Satya helps GK, who makes him his partner. Here, they find out that Satya is very money minded. GK's love, Sirisha, who does not love GK back, gets captured by Satya, and falls in love with him. Brahmanandam is another important character in the story who's major role is flirting with Sirisha. Priyamani enters as Ashtalakshmi, being chased by rowdies. Obviously, Satya beats them up, and finds out that the rowdies are Pedhanna's rowdies following Ashtalakshmi, for a reason she does not know of. Later, her whole family is introduced as a Brahmin family...

Ramesh, nicknamed Rummy (Nagarjuna) loves his childhood friend Janaki, who asks him to grow rich and powerful and then marry her. With this motive, Rummy starts gambling and becomes rich in no time. ACP Sekhar (Sayaji Shinde) takes notice of his activities and attempts to catch him. Rummy then moves to Goa where he meets Chandra (Ankur), a pub owner who also runs gambling in it. Both of them enter into a big deal. While on the task, Rummy rescues Sara (Paula) from Victor. Sara’s sister Nadia (Linda) falls in love with him. Another woman, Sandhya (Mamta Mohandas), enters his life. She helps him in his task. Meanwhile, differences arise between Rummy and Chandra, and they become rivals. Now, how will Rummy encounter the situations? What happened to Janaki? Will he get back to her and marry her?
